Rock On with Guitar Hero III: Legends of Rock - Full PC Torrent Download
The one thing that makes up for the lack of support for the PC is the Rock Band expansion pack. It's a prequel to the game, and centers around Jeff Scott Soto, the guitar player who meets up with Slash in the game's official trailer (seen above). It's possible to play through the game using the Rock Band music select, but the game is actually most enjoyable with the traditional guitar and drum gameplay.

Best of all, the PC version of Guitar Hero III is completely free. That's right, all the in-game downloads are free, the music is free, and the DLC is free. There is one caveat: the addition of the in-game 3-D fretboard will require a purchase of the downloadable 3-D instruction manual, which runs $6.99.

The best feature of Guitar Hero III is that you don't have to play with headphones on. You can use the amp and the speakers, too. Most people will choose the controllers for on-the-go play, though.
The biggest improvement from Guitar Hero II to Guitar Hero III is the addition of 3-D guitar animation, which hits all the right notes. The 3-D movement is brisk but not tedious, and the effect helps a ton with the slapstick humor and cartoony nature of the game. It's also pretty easy to play along with and take advantage of, especially with the ability to run your fingers up and down the neck and thumb on the fretboard.
